The intelligent filter type reactive power compensation module is an independent and complete intelligent compensation unit composed of an intelligent measurement and control unit, an intelligent zero-crossing switching relay intelligent protection unit, a low-voltage self-healing power capacitor, and a dry-type series reactor. It replaces the automatic reactive power compensation device assembled from various discrete devices such as an intelligent reactive power controller, fuse (or micro-break), thyristor composite switch (or contactor), thermal relay, indicator light, low-voltage power capacitor, and dry-type series reactor.                                                                  The product is mainly used for reactive power compensation in occasions with severe harmonics, which can operate reliably, will not produce resonance and has no amplifying effect on harmonics, and can absorb and eliminate harmonics to a certain extent. Among them, the product with a 7% series reactor is suitable for the electrical environment where the main harmonic is the 5th, and the product with a 13% series reactor is suitable for the electrical environment where the main harmonic is the 3rd.

"Zero-crossing switching" to reduce system power consumption. Therefore, the capacitor switching process has no inrush current impact, no switching overvoltage, and no arcing phenomenon.

● Protection Functions

Intelligent capacitors have functions such as overvoltage protection, undervoltage protection, voltage loss protection, short-circuit protection, and capacitor over-temperature protection, effectively ensuring the safety of capacitors and extending equipment life.

The internal temperature protection of low-voltage power capacitors is one of their important protection features. Excessively high working power supply voltage or ambient temperature will seriously affect the service life of low-voltage power capacitors. Setting internal temperature protection for low-voltage power capacitors can withdraw them from operation when the internal temperature exceeds the threshold, thereby extending their service life.

● Control Technology

The switching criteria are power factor and reactive power. Reactive power flow prediction and delayed multi-point sampling technology are adopted. When the power factor is lower than the set value, hierarchical control of switching is performed according to the reactive power deficit of the load to ensure no switching oscillation. During heavy loads, reactive power is fully compensated.

● Intelligent Network Function

Using intelligent network technology, a 485 communication network is constructed. Multiple capacitors are used in parallel to automatically generate a network, where the one with the smallest address code serves as the host, and the rest are slaves, forming a low-voltage reactive power automatic control system. If an individual slave fails, it will automatically withdraw without affecting the rest; if the host fails and withdraws, a new host will be generated from the remaining slaves to form a new system.

● High-Quality Power Capacitors

The capacitor components in intelligent capacitors adopt a progressive thickened silver-zinc coating process. The silver-zinc coating has good electrical conductivity and stability, and the thickness is proportional to the current density at that point. Therefore, the heat generation during operation is small and uniform, which greatly improves the capacitance stability of low-voltage power capacitors with minimal attenuation.

● Hybrid Compensation Function

Phase-separated compensation can be achieved. In occasions with unbalanced three-phase loads, a combination of three-phase and phase-separated methods can be adopted. According to the size of the reactive power deficit in each phase, the three phases are switched separately to achieve optimal reactive power.

● Filter Function

Effectively suppress high-order harmonic inrush currents, forming a low-impedance path for high-order harmonics. It has an absorption and release effect on harmonics, eliminating the impact of high-order harmonics on capacitors, reducing and suppressing harmonic currents and flicker currents, protecting the circuit and capacitors from overload, and preventing capacitor overheating, aging of insulation media, decline in self-healing performance, and reduction in service life.
